Hockey Stick

Crowborough is a small friendly club based in the town, on the edge of the East Sussex/Kent border.  We have three men’s teams, three ladies teams, a mixed side and a boy’s development team.  The club prides itself on it’s ability to make the newest junior feel as welcome as a seasoned veteran with 20 years at the club.

We play our home games at the Astroturf pitch at Beacon Community college and use the Wolfe Recreation Ground pavilion as our social center and where we host opposition teams and hold are many and varied parties and social events.

We are proud to be sponsored by S R Ventures, a local Property development and landscape gardening company.

We have qualified coaches, who provide training for the club.  We have junior sessions on Saturday mornings at The Beacon pitch from 8.45am. Training for the 2008-2009 season will be held on Tuesday evening at East Grinstead water-based astro, 7-8.30pm and indoor hockey or fitness on a Thursday evening 7-8pm. All ages and standards are welcome.

Because of are geographical position, with larger hockey clubs close by, we are always keen to welcome new members at Crowborough, of any ability; be you a beginner or an experienced player looking to play hockey at a more leisurely pace.

Finally it would be remiss if we did not mention that our President, Mr. Ron Easton sadly lost his battle with cancer this summer.  It will be a unique season, without Ron’s presence and encouragement and the club will feel poorer without its founder member.

All that we ask is that all members continue to play the game in the spirit of fair play and enjoyment, as Ron would have wished.  We will not seek to find a replacement President, but will honour Ron’s memory by maintaining him as our honorary President, in memoriam.

This site is a new venture, so please contact the committee if
there is anything that you would like to be included.
